SOlar Raptor metal halide bulbs

Solar Raptor HID bulbs require a external ballast to work. They are the most favourable bulb of choice here at Philipniceguy exotics because they direct heat and UV downwards towards the basking lizard. While they can blow they don't blow often like Mercury vapour bulbs (MVB) do and Halogen bulbs do. I'd recommend changing the bulbs yearly for species requiring good levels of both UVB and UVA. If you keep species that don't require much UV you can use the older bulbs for them but a Solar meter to monitor the UVB/UVA levels would be highly useful in that circumstance. The Ballasts must be purchased in the same wattage as the bulbs for example a 70w Metal halide bulb requires a 70w ballast to work. The ballasts come with a UK or EU plus I will check address and send out the appropriate one to the delivery address country. All you need is a high wattage rated ceramic ES/E27 socket fitting suitable for the bulbs. If you have a species that might attempt to touch the bulb a suitable bulb guard would be required. They give off a lovely white natural light colour which is great for seeing your animals vibrant colours and in fact I use these lights when taking photos for this website.
